Description

"Cortical cell types show highly stereotyped gene expression patterns in human, with enough conservation across regions and between species to match these cell types with high confidence. However, gene expression is not static in a given cell type, as many genes shows differing patterns between males and females, based on tissue quality, and in disease. The human variation study seeks to characterize variation of gene expression in cell types of adult human cortex, and how this variation relates to genetic signatures. Single nucleus RNA-sequencing and whole genome sequencing were collected from non-pathological tissue in patients undergoing surgeries for tumor removal or intractable epilepsy. Patch-seq was collected on cells from these same patients as part of the Human PatchSeq L2/3 project.less"
